TERMS OF SERVICE
Soundbuttons may be used for lawful, personal creative work: play, download, and share responsibly, upload only content you have the rights to, and expect these terms to evolve as the service does.
Last updated: September 15, 2026
Yes — sounds on Soundbuttons are free to play and download for personal creative use such as videos, streams, and chats. What you may not do is redistribute the library as your own, resell clips, or upload content you do not have the rights to. Community-sourced clips can still carry their own copyright, and the U.S. Copyright Office FAQ explains those basics. These terms form a binding agreement when you use the site, and U.S. courts have repeatedly upheld this "clickwrap" model — in Meyer v. Uber Technologies (2d Cir. 2017), a terms-of-service checkbox was found enforceable.
You are responsible for your account activity and for the content you submit. Uploading grants Soundbuttons the permissions needed to host, process, display, and deliver that content through the service — and the stakes are real: willful copyright infringement can carry statutory damages of up to $150,000 per work under 17 U.S.C. § 504(c) (Cornell LII).
Do not upload or share content that infringes rights, violates law, contains harmful code, or abuses the service or its users.
Keep your login credentials secure; activity under your account is your responsibility.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, remove content, enforce limits, or update these terms when needed to operate, secure, or improve the service. The service is provided "as is" and "as available" — we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, complete metadata accuracy, or that every sound is available at all times.
