How to Use a Soundboard on Discord - Soundbuttons Guide
Discord has no built-in soundboard for normal voice channels, so you have to feed audio into the call yourself. There are two ways to do it — playing from the browser, or running a bot — and they suit different situations. Every clip on Soundbuttons plays instantly and downloads free as an MP3, with no account required.
Method 1: play from the browser (no bot)
Open Soundbuttons in a browser tab and press a button; the clip plays on your machine. To get it into the call, you route your browser output into your microphone input using a virtual audio cable, then pick that virtual device as Discord's input. Nothing gets installed on Discord, and it works on servers that ban bots.
Method 2: use a Discord bot
A soundboard bot joins the voice channel and plays files you trigger with a command or a dashboard. This is the better option when several people need to fire sounds, and it keeps your own microphone clean. The trade-off is that the server has to allow bots, and someone has to set it up.
Fixing the problems people actually hit
If nobody hears anything, check that Discord is listening to the virtual cable and not your real microphone. If the audio is quiet, raise the input volume in Discord's voice settings rather than the system volume. If there is echo, your output is being captured as well — wear headphones or mute the Discord output device from the mix.
Keeping it usable
Pick eight to twelve clips and stop there. Boards with fifty sounds never get used, because nobody can find the right one while talking. Keep your most-used clip one keypress away and treat the rest as backup.
